Dr. Mokpel Greis brings over four decades of medical experience to IvyMed Clinic. Born and educated in Egypt, he earned his medical degree from Alexandria University in 1982, specialising in Respiratory Medicine. Dr. Greis’ journey led him to Australia in 1992, where he was registered with the Australian Medical Council in 1996.
Dr. Greis’ medical career has been diverse, transitioning from respiratory to rehabilitation medicine in 1998. His dedicated work in this field sparked a profound interest in musculoskeletal problems, which he carries into his current practice.
In the year 2000, Dr. Greis started working in Addiction Medicine, prescribing opiate replacement therapies such as methadone and buprenorphine to patients struggling with opiate addiction. His commitment to this work led him to serve as a General Practitioner at Aboriginal Medical Services for over eight years. Here, he treated a large number of patients battling addiction, chronic pain, and mental health issues.
It was during this time that Dr. Greis recognised the potential benefits of alternative treatments. Witnessing patients suffer from addiction problems due to polypharmacy, he saw the need for a more holistic approach to chronic pain and anxiety management.
